Job Description:
Histotechnician at Labcorp summary: Seeking experienced
histology professionals to process, embed, section, stain, and
perform immunohistochemical testing on human tissue specimens in a
high-volume clinical pathology laboratory. Responsibilities include
operating and maintaining manual and automated instruments,
performing QC and preventive maintenance, documenting results and
equipment logs, and following laboratory SOPs and safety protocols.
Requires an associate degree in a relevant science (or meeting
CLIA/state requirements), 2 years histology experience, and
preferred ASCP certification; schedule is 2nd shift (Sun–Thu) with
comprehensive benefits for eligible employees. We are seeking
Histology Professionals to join the Labcorp team where we are
dedicated to providing the highest quality medical laboratory

Lab in San Diego CA. alongside a highly trained staff with the
latest technology. Our services are performed with the utmost care,
expertise, integrity and respect for the patient. Pay Range: $36.00
- $41.00 per hour Plus 2nd shift differential All job offers will
be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience,
applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and
market data. Work Schedule: Sunday - Thursday 3:00pm - 11:30pm

click here . Job Responsibilities Process human tissue and body
fluid specimens in preparation for microscopic exam Embedding and
cutting human tissue samples with a microtome. Perform technical
duties related to the production of histopathological slides of
surgical specimens Section the embedded tissue, using a microtome
and mount the section properly on a microscope slide Perform
various immunohistochemical tests on formalin fixed paraffin
embedded tissue sections Process mounted sections through routine
and special staining procedures Properly orient and embed surgical
tissue specimens Prepare the stains and reagents needed for special
procedures Report accurate and timely test results in order to
deliver quality patient care Operate and maintain manual and
automated instruments Perform and document equipment maintenance as
needed Record equipment log data in an accurate and timely manner
Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control
procedures Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies
Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and
processing, analysis and reporting Document problems that may
affect test performance and perform corrective actions as needed
Requirements Associates in a Chemical or Biological science,
Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or meet local
regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements – Bachelor’s degree is a
plus Histology and/or ASCP certifications are preferred 2 years
experience in histology in a clinical laboratory setting.
Proficient in embedding and microtomy processing various types of
tissues samples, including skin, prostate, breast, gyn, GI
Familiarity with routine histology procedures and equipment
Immunohistochemistry experience is a plus Comfortability embedding
both large and small specimens Ability to accurately read all
labels and documents Highly organized with a strong attention to
detail Experience working in a high volume laboratory environment
is desirable Familiarity with laboratory SOPs and safety protocols
Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen Must be
able to pass a technical test consisting of embedding and
