science, we’re in. Are you? About the Role: We’re looking for a
Scientist on the Analytical Development team to help us expand
what’s possible for patients with serious diseases. Reporting to
the Senior Scientist, Analytical Development, you’ll specialize in
HPLC and LCMS-based analytical development for large molecules,
with a focus on groundbreaking gene therapy products such as AAV
vectors and other complex biologics. What You'll Do: In this role,
you’ll have the opportunity to support QC and may also serve in
supporting R&D for non-clinical/clinical biomarker using LCMS
and Separations-related needs. You will also serve as a
subject-matter-expert for all HPLC and LCMS based method
development and testing. You’ll also: Write and review protocols,
SOPs, reports and other product development documents Protein
identification, quantification and characterization from the
therapeutic evaluation of our compounds in preclinical development
studies Participate in cross-disciplinary mentoring and training of
entry-level and junior scientists Assist with coordination and
day-to-day management of site operations Perform data review to
ensure accuracy, completeness, and validity Summarize experimental
data into technical reports and for external publications Present
scientific results to R&D and Technical Development teams, and
periodically at scientific conferences in poster or podium format
Maintain proper documentation of experimental procedures and
results via electronic laboratory notebook Maintain specific
laboratory equipment Define and implement state-of-the art
technology to support non-clinical and clinical biomarker and
product quality characterization needs Conceptualize, construct,
validate, and implement screening platforms to enable biomarker
discovery and screening in tissue samples Who You Are: You have a
degree in analytical chemistry or related field with PhD and 0-2
years post-graduate experience in method development, Master’s with
2 years related experience, or Bachelor’s with 4 years of related
experience. You are or you also have: Deep technical understanding
of and hands-on experience with HPLC / LCMS and other protein
biochemistry characterization methods including but not limited to
spectroscopy, capillary electrophoresis (CE-SDS), SDS-PAGE, Western
Blot, and ELISA techniques Expertise with Orbitrap (Thermo) and QQQ
(Sciex) systems Proven track record in methods development,
including experimental design, execution, and evaluation Excellent
communication skills (verbal and written) Highly organized with a
strong attention to detail, clarity, accuracy, and conciseness
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to thrive in a
dynamic work environment and show a commitment to diversity in
individuals and ideas Nice to have (but not required): Experience
in scripting or coding (e.g. Python or R) Where You’ll Work This
role is based out of our San Diego office and requires full-time,
in-person presence to support hands-on collaboration, access
specialized equipment, and/or operational needs. Travel
