Position Summary We are seeking a reliable, safety-focused Driver / Material Handling Technician to support daily factory operations and local deliveries. This role is responsible for internal material movement using forklifts, preparation and wrapping of finished goods, and delivery of fabricated metal products to customers throughout San Diego County using a 26 ft stakebed truck . This is a hands-on, in-facility role with regular time spent on the shop floor and driving local delivery routes. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a metal manufacturing environment, follows safety procedures closely, and takes pride in careful handling of customer products. This position requires strong communication skills, professionalism, and attention to detail, as the driver will frequently interface with customers and represent the company during deliveries. Requirements: Primary Duties Perform daily deliveries of finished goods within San Diego County using the company’s 25’ stake bed truck. Safely transport products to customers and vendors in accordance with traffic laws and company policies. Load, pack, and unload parts with accuracy, ensuring product quality and preventing damage. Count and verify deliveries and shipments against shipping documents. Maintain a clean driving record and adhere to all traffic and safety regulations. Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and internal staff during deliveries. Represent AP Precision Metals in a professional, courteous, and customer-focused manner. Follow all safety requirements, ISO9001 procedures, and company standards. ________________________________________ Additional Duties (as required) Assist with shipping and receiving activities as directed. Maintain cleanliness of the stake bed truck and shipping area. Report vehicle condition and assist with basic truck maintenance checks. Interface with management as needed regarding delivery schedules, customer issues, or logistics concerns. ________________________________________ Qualifications Valid California Driver's with a clean driving record. Strong English speaking and communication skills. Personable, professional, and customer-focused demeanor. Detail-oriented and organized, with ability to verify and track shipments accurately. Previous delivery or truck driving experience preferred. Ability to perform light physical work, including loading and unloading shipments. Prior experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment strongly preferred. Comfortable working around heavy equipment, metal parts, and industrial processes. Must be available for 1st shift (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM) with flexibility for occasional overtime when shipments run late. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to stand for extended periods while performing inspections. Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and sheet metal handling.
