Description: In the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Sonographer role, your
responsibilities will include conducting diagnostic imaging studies
in all trimesters. This includes first trimester dating and early
anatomic assessments. You will perform detailed second and third
trimester anatomic assessments, fetal echocardiography, growth
assessments, Doppler studies, and transvaginal ultrasound. You will
work directly and exclusively with perinatologists in a
high-quality independent fetal imaging center. This role will allow
you to provide excellent ultrasound service while improving and
maintaining your ultrasound skills. You will have the opportunity
to obtain additional certifications if needed. Protocols adhere to
standards established by the American Institute of Ultrasound in
Medicine (AIUM). Responsibilities include: Checking equipment and
accessories to ensure proper working order and notifying
appropriate personnel for repairs. Performing pertinent duties in
the best interest of patients and personnel. Participating in the
modality-specific QA/QC program and ensuring compliance with
regulations. Evaluating patient history and symptoms for clinical
criteria and communicating with patients clearly and
professionally. Instructing and communicating with patients and/or
patients' families regarding the tests to be performed. Assessing
the patient's ability to tolerate exams. Demonstrating and
maintaining current knowledge, continued education, and skills to
provide appropriate care for specific age groups. Assisting the
physician as needed in additional imaging or biopsy procedures.
Modeling and exhibiting proficiency in Maternal Fetal Medicine
Ultrasound Technician competencies. Utilizing technical knowledge
and skills to perform procedures accurately and in a timely manner
in accordance with age-specific criteria. Completing exam charges
and image documentation and forwarding them to the radiologist in a
timely manner. Other duties as assigned. Education and Experience
requirements include: An Associate's Degree in Ultrasound
Technology or graduation from an accredited Sonography Program is
required. Possession of current American Registry of Diagnostic
Medical Sonographers (ARDMS Registry) is essential. Basic Life
Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) is
required. Incumbents must exhibit proficiency in Maternal Fetal
Medicine Ultrasound Technician required competencies. Preferred
qualifications include: Nuchal Translucency (NT) Certification. A
Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Required competencies for
this position include: Medical terminology, basic anatomy, and
physiology. Experience performing diagnostic imaging studies in all
trimesters. Proficiency with multiple forms of ultrasound imaging.
Experience with screening and diagnostic obstetric ultrasounds in
all trimesters. Ability to conduct advanced fetal imaging studies
and Doppler assessments. Knowledge of ultrasounds related to
invasive diagnostic testing and minimal gynecologic ultrasounds.
Adherence to protocols established by accredited obstetric imaging
