Job SummaryThis position requires a talented and highly motivated scientist to support the Cell Biology R&D team develop technologies for ex vivo genetic modification of a variety of primary immune and stem cells. In this role, the scientist will be able to leverage state of the art CRISPR-based gene editing tools and delivery technologies to help advance and launch new products. Additionally, this individual will interact with other R&D scientists for assay development, cloning and construct design. This exciting position will also directly be supporting the evaluations of new technologies to support the the advancement of cell biology research and a focus on cell therapy. Primary Responsibilities

  • Isolate and maintain culture of multiple immune cells, stem cells and cancer cell models
  • Optimize protocols for genetic modification with CRISPR or TALEN based tools in support of customer needs
  • Setup and perform complex flow cytometry assays with proper compensation
  • Utilize Design of Experiment to promptly analyze assay results
  • Utilize semi or fully automated liquid handling platforms
  • Maintain detailed and organized notebook and experiment write-ups
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency and can-do attitude to take on new tasks with initiative and intensity
  • Present data and findings to peers and managers
  • Prioritize workload across multiple projects
  • Effectively collaborate with team members and cross-functional
  • Work independently in a fast-paced project-based environment Knowledge, skills, abilities
    • Aseptic cell culture experience. Primary, stem and/or immune cell experience is highly preferred
    • Isolation and purification of various primary blood cell types using manual and/or automated methods
    • Experienced with planning and execution of reagent-based transfection and electroporation based delivery experiments
    • CRISPR based assay development for both knock-out and knock-in optimization
    • Attune Flow Cytometry experience is preferred by not required
    • Molecular biology techniques (cloning, primer and construct design, PCR, etc.) Education Requirements
      • The ideal candidate will possess a M.S. degree with 1-2 years of relevant experience, or a B.S. degree with 4-5 years of relevant experience preferably within Immunology and/or Cell Biologyby Jobble
