• Our Parsons San Diego office is hiring a Senior Project Engineer to oversee engineering, scheduling, procurement, construction, and start-up for various road, highway, and transportation projects in Southern California.
• This role supports multiple Caltrans and regional projects in San Diego and other California regions. You may manage a subtask of a large, complex project or study, ensuring technical excellence, coordination of disciplines, procurement, and construction planning. Previous project engineering experience is required. Relocation to the project site may be needed.
• We offer a hybrid remote work scenario (work from home 1-2 days/week) with weekly reporting to our San Diego office.Responsibilities:
  • Develop scope, schedules, and budgets for project elements; monitor progress and manage scope changes.
  • Determine procurement scope, schedules, budgets; coordinate with procurement and subcontractors; assist in bid analysis.
  • Review work for compliance with codes and standards; monitor technical team productivity; conduct performance reviews; provide training.
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary technical personnel and support groups.
  • Assist the Project Manager in planning, directing, and controlling project execution.
  • Ensure engineering work meets client criteria; expedite action items; understand client goals.
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation.
  • Act as Project Manager's deputy when needed.
  • Manage technical and contractual information; review and approve change orders.
  • Participate in decision-making meetings with clients and management.Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; 12+ years of related experience in road/highway and infrastructure projects; supervisory experience preferred.
    • Professional Engineer (PE) license in any U.S. state; ability to obtain California PE within one year.Skills/Competencies:
      • Proven supervisory ability, excellent communication skills, thorough industry knowledge, and familiarity with engineering software.Security Clearance:None required.This role is part of our Critical Infrastructure team, dedicated to designing and delivering essential infrastructure worldwide.
