SUMMARY

The purpose of the Epidemiology COVID-19 Response Unit within the Epidemiology Division of the Imperial County Public Health Department (ICPHD) is to coordinate and conduct COVID-19 case investigations and contact tracing, document findings, and report on patterns of illness related to COVID-19. The unit conducts ongoing monitoring of data collected, analysis, and daily situation reports to support targeted response efforts of the pandemic and help mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, the Administrative Analyst will perform administrative tasks in support of Epidemiology COVID-19 Response Unit; provide assistance with data management; perform data analysis; prepare reports; participate in research studies; prepare grant applications; and provide analysis and recommendations regarding a variety of administrative matters.

The hourly rate for this position is $24.68/hour to $31.54/hour depending on experience/ qualifications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Perform studies for an assigned division; research data, analyze results and prepare recommendations for review of Public Health Director and Public Health Officer as it relates to COVID-19.
  • Analyze reports, regulations, requests for information and other matters; identify alternative approaches to resolve issues and make recommendations to Public Health Director and Public Health Officer for proper course of action.
    • Prepare grant proposals in support of the department activities; receive, review and analyze potential revenue sources; recommend approaches to satisfy requirements of revenue sources.
      • Coordinate with other support agencies to accomplish goals of the department; interact with numerous federal, state and county government agencies, private agencies and law enforcement agencies.
        • Prepare a variety of complex reports in support of department activities and programs related to COVID-19; consolidate data from several sources and ensure accuracy of data presented.
          • Compose correspondence reports, manuals and other documents for management, which communicate Department policies and procedures.
            • Attend meetings and conferences representing the assigned department.
              • Analyze new laws, rules, regulations and proposed legislation related to COVID-19; provide reports to the Department Head and others regarding impact of COVID-19 on the County of Imperial; recommend changes to County policy, programs and codes as necessary to implement new legislation.

                JOB QUALIFICATIONS

                • Knowledge of research methods, statistical analysis and report writing techniques
                • Knowledge of practices, procedures and techniques involved in the collection, analysis and reporting of data
                • Ability to effectivity communicate both orally and in writing
                • Ability to interpret laws, rules and regulations
                • Knowledge of budget preparation and control
                • Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy
                • Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary

                  Education/Experience

                  Any combination equivalent to a bachelor's degree in public administration, psychology, public health or related field.

                  Certificates/Licenses/Clearances

                  A valid California driver's license, proof of vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
